FIRST NORTHERN BANK OF WYOMING
First Northern Bank of Wyoming is the oldest bank still in operation in Wyoming but is in an area where the average age is becoming increasingly younger. As one of the more popular banks in rural northeastern Wyoming, it was becoming more and more difficult to reach potential new customers. Though the bank recognized the value of using social media to reach their younger population, Page Likes on Facebook had grown stagnant.
We decided to develop a Facebook contest to showcase their new debit card designs. We worked with their bank managers to simplify the contest rules while making sure they were within Facebook’s guidelines. To participate in the contest, users simply needed to like First Northern Bank of Wyoming’s Facebook page and pick their favorite debit card. The contest was cross-promoted on all of the bank’s social platforms and pinned to the top of their Facebook page.
The contest post reached over 12.5 thousand people, and nearly 94 percent of those users were not already fans of the page. By the end of the campaign, their Facebook Page Likes grew by 14 percent and continued to grow in the following weeks. The results were not only seen online – First Northern Bank of Wyoming also saw an increase in customers in each of their three locations asking for their debit card designs.
