Chestnut Mountain Resort is a Midwestern year-round resort well known as a winter destination for skiing and snowboarding. The advent of the digital age and exponential growth in technological devices has meant the consumer now has a far greater number of sources to glean information and connect with brands. The hospitality industry is no exception, and we needed to ensure the marketing communication channels evolved to ensure frequent consumer engagement with the brand and a growing awareness of the year-round activities available at the resort.
In recognition of the fluid connectivity consumers were displaying in their quest for information, digital was moved into a more prominent role. The digital approach focused on informing and engaging with brand ambassadors online through a redesigned website, relevant social media posts, and strategic digital and social advertising were designed to engage consumers on mobile devices.
This evolution of the marketing mix showed a positive effect on year-round business performance. Thousands of impressions were delivered in highly-targeted environments, driving new audiences to Chestnut Mountain Resort and generating high engagement on social media and online review channels.
